My parents, the world's best, told me I was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on November 8… some five plus decades ago. I take their word for it because I don't remember dropping in. I already had two dominant older brothers - we were all a year apart - so I quickly learned the art of peacemaker to avoid being dragged into their pointless battles or becoming their moving target. Then BINGO! Within two years I had another brother. Fed up with commuting to work in New York City, my Dad decided we should move to Houston in 1952. Once there, BINGO! I had another brother. My folks were up to five sons now. Houston must have not been too happening because a year later we moved to Fort Worth. BINGO! Another brother. Several years. BINGO! Another. So in lineage I am the third of seven sons. I've always felt very fortunate to grow up in a large family, albeit one over laden with testosterone.

I attended Catholic school through the seventh grade, but the propaganda became a frustrating experience as puberty set in. Being bombarded with guilt was enough to drive a normal and curious adolescent male towards insanity, a state of mind I learned to appreciate only later in life. Besides that, the dear nuns and priests could never answer to my satisfaction my incessant questions about God, Heaven and Hell, Creation and the Universe. And they were certainly not interested in my theories. I started attending public school in the eighth grade. What a relief!

At fifteen I began playing guitar and stealing lead licks from Freddie King, Scotty Moore, Chuck Berry, the Beatles, the Stones, you name it. When offered the position of playing with the orchestra for our high school production of Bye, Bye Birdie, I jumped at the opportunity and learned complex arrangements and chords I'd never heard of. By 1965 I was playing in dives and bars I was too young to even enter legally, like The Celler in Fort Worth, and often with Jerry Lynn Williams, the successful songwriter and singer's singer.

After high school, with dreams of fortune and fame dancing in my head, I wanted to hit the road to play music. At the time, however, Uncle Sam was doing Vietnam. I was strongly opposed to the war, yet was prime material for it with a 1A draft classification. So I went for a college deferment and plowed through five years at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. Between bands, antiwar activities, student politics, the 60's counterculture, psychedelia and the general madness and magic of the times I somehow managed to escape with a BS in Electrical Engineering. It was also during the 60's that I became interested in psychic phenomena, a natural manifestation of the soul, and I began to realize I'd been having psychic experiences since early childhood. To further my knowledge of metaphysics and the laws of the Universe, I began reading the works of spiritualists and psychics like Madame Blavatsky, Ruth Montgomery and Edgar Cayce. To this day psychic phenomena and the psychic arts are among my greatest interests.

After serving two years as a Conscientious Objector at Austin State Hospital, I traveled to western Canada, Holland, Belgium and Mexico, playing music and seeing some of the world. Fascinating place, it is indeed. In 1972 I moved back to Austin, began giving psychic readings and studied Filmmaking at the University of Texas, but quit to make a living by playing with numerous bands and as a soloist.

Soon I was again traveling almost non-stop. You gotta be crazy, love music and crave being on the road to do this for a living. Throughout the years I've performed as a lead guitarist, keyboard player, singer and songwriter in every format from soloist to large bands and I've covered every popular style: Rock, blues, country, jazz, folk and original. As a band member during the late 70's and early 80's, I opened for Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, David Allen Coe, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Gordon, BW Stevenson and other major artists.

In 1977, between musical ventures, I had an incredible psychic/spiritual experience, one that motivates me to this day. After a week of continuously escalating psychic ability, which I could neither stop nor understand, I was involved in a head-on collision with a speeding automobile - and I was the pedestrian. As my body crashed into the car I felt my soul leave, then rush through space, enter that 'tunnel of light' so often described by others, then arrive at a level of consciousness more beautiful and magnificent than the human mind can perceive.

Here, in this perfect blue Void, there were all possibilities, yet only one - Everything. There were all questions and answers... yet none. I felt like I was in a state of infinite knowing. There was no beginning and no end. There was no time and infinite time. There was no Creation yet all possible Creations. Of course, I did not want to leave this Mind of God/Heaven/Nirvana, but upon acknowledging that I was witnessing it, I felt separated from it and I suppose that meant I had to return… because I did.

When I returned to my body only seconds later, I was completely shocked, to say the least, yet I suffered not even a scratch from the accident. I jumped to my feet and tried to explain to the panicked driver and equally panicked onlookers what I had just experienced, but it was too much for them… and for me. Within no time the police and an ambulance arrived and I was rushed to the Emergency Ward at the hospital. The story gets weirder from here, but suffice it to say, life has never been the same since that day. I am editing my story about that fascinating and enlightening experience. See - A Second in Eternity.

A few years later a very gifted psychic named Alice Worrall taught me Lithomancy, a method of reading stones. I  developed a personalized system of this psychic art, and over the decades I have given thousands of readings in person and over the phone. I currently work regularly at psychic fairs, conventions, parties, on cruise ships, for state agencies, on live radio shows, and at all sorts of gatherings and events.
See excerpts from my book on the subject: Lithomancy, the psychic art of reading stones.

In 1993 I went to Copenhagen, Denmark and Oslo, Norway to play a few months of gigs, and I ended up living in Copenhagen until 1999. During those years I performed as a soloist in clubs, in concerts and on cruise ships throughout northern Europe and began writing in my spare time. A few books, several short stories and hundreds of bars later I moved back to Austin in 2000 where I reside today. See Music Biography on my Musician Page.

In 2002 I took creative writing and screenwriting courses at ACC and since then I have worked as an actor, an extra, a PA, an extras casting assistant, locations and transportation manager, catering, pre-production photographer, musician and doing set-up for bands in a film. Now I spend my time writing books and screenplays, working in films, playing music, giving psychic readings, and enjoying life more each day.
